MATCH PREVIEW | Reserves aim to hold onto top spot this Thursday

Thursday night sees Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity Reserves go head to head at AMT Headingley Stadium as Chev Walker's side look to open a small gap at the Reserves League table, kick off 7pm.
Rearranged from earlier in the season, the Rhinos are back at the stadium having beaten Warrington in front of a packed South Stand crowd last Saturday. The 44-12 win moved Leeds top of the table on points difference, but with a game in hand on the rest of the field, they can go two points clear of Hull FC in second place.
Jack Sinfield's two tries led the Rhinos to victory over the Wolves in what was the strongest team named by Walker this season. Cooper Jenkins and Andy Ackers both made their first Reserves appearances of the campaign, with Jenkins adding a try in the second half, plus Max Simpson got his first minutes after over two years sidelined with injury. Alongside familiar names to Rhinos fans, the Reserves squad has been led by a host of Under-18s talents too, notably the side's top try scorer Presley Cassell and top points scorer Harley Thomas.
Five games over the next two months will see the Rhinos hope to secure a Grand Final berth, but the next two games are going to be critical as Trinity and Hull KR are in with a fighting chance of attempting to make the top two.
Wakefield are chasing Leeds' tail and a win on Thursday would move Trinity to within a point of the top two (should results go their way this week).
Trinity come into the game with four wins and a draw from seven outings in 2025, and are one of the in-form sides with five league points from a possible six in their last three matches. Last time out, they suffered a 22-22 draw against Bradford Bulls - after leading 18-10 at the break - to go with wins over Salford and Hull KR as they've moved up the rankings. St Helens and Warrington have been the only sides to beat Wakefield in rounds one and four, whilst Leigh and Castleford have both fallen to Trinity
